INTERNATIONAL KEPES SOCIETY

The founders of the International Kepes Society (IKS) consider the artistic, theoretical and pedagogical work of György Kepes to be of universal artistic value. The Society's source of inspiration is the work of György Kepes and the collaboration of artists, scientists and engineers in the spirit of the MIT - Center for Advanced Visual Studies - an institute he founded in Cambridge (USA). The idea to unite into a society was decided at the first International Symposium on Light in Eger, in 1993.  

OUR OBJECTIVES:

• Preserving the life's work of György Kepes and spreading his spirit.
• To promote the artistic and creative use of contemporary scientific, technical and industrial achievements, technologies and means of production, to bring together human and technical culture and to support the research and creative work that supports it, to present these achievements and to organise programmes to support them.
• The Society aims to promote the presentation and use of the results of universal research and to support artistic creation and research programmes in accordance with the objectives outlined above.
• We wish to foster the creation and deepening of human relationships between representatives of different disciplines, which can be mutually productive and bridge all responsible human creativity, but especially art.

OUR SCOPES:

• International exchange of information in the form of a regular newsletter and Internet links.
• International and national symposia, conferences, exhibitions, presentations and lectures.
• Organisation of exhibitions, conferences, publications
• Promoting new initiatives and creative artistic and technical experiments in line with the spirit of the Society.
